This was my first major work on the Mornington Peninsula. A modern new fire station facility also serving as a vibrant community events hub. With the generosity of the local community, we were able to amend the standard CFA shed design and reorganise the volumes to better respond to the brigade’s needs, the streetscape and landform. Materials were upgraded for durability and better dialogue with the place - something most emergency services structures rarely do well.
Working effectively with multiple stakeholders was a rewarding and educational experience.
