This modern new fire station facility that doubles as a vibrant community hub. This was my first major work on the Mornington Peninsula. With the generosity of the community, we were able to amend the bulk standard CFA design and reorganise the volumes to better respond to the streetscape and landform. Materials were upgraded for durability and better dialogue with the place - something most emergency services structures do not do well.
Working effectively with multiple stakeholders was a rewarding and educational experience.
